Manage PowerStore Storage System

This chapter provides information about managing the Dell PowerStore storage system.

The following functions are supported:

• Register Dell PowerStore storage system.
• Unregister Dell PowerStore storage system.
• Edit Dell PowerStore storage system.
• View Dell PowerStore storage system details.

You can also perform the following functions:

• Grant or revoke storage access to vCenter users/groups.
• Add hosts during the storage system registration and in the storage systems page. You can view the host status in the storage systems page and also remove the host.
• Provision VMFS and vVol datastores. You can also create and delete RDMs, and view VM disks for Dell PowerStore storage system.
• Apply host best practices to Dell PowerStore storage system to set preferred values to the settings.
• Select appliance during provisioning of VMFS datastore and RDM disk. You can also view the appliance in datastore and RDM disk details page.
• Clone, refresh and restore the Dell PowerStore storage system.
• Add NVMe hosts during the storage system registration. You can also add NVMe hosts in the Dell PowerStore Hosts tab.
• Monitor the capacity and performance for PowerStore cluster and VMFS datastore.
• Restore VM from PowerStore VMFS datastore snapshot.
• View NVMe fabrics (FC/TCP) information during view host, add host, datastore provision, and creating thin clone.
• View replication status for a VMFS datastore on existing VMFS datastore protection card under storage details tab.
• View replication details for a VMFS datastore.
• View replication details for a volume group.
