Create PowerStore Protection Policy

Use the procedure in this topic to create protection policy for PowerStore storage system.

1. Log in to the VMware vSphere Client.
2. Click Menu > Dell VSI.
3. Click Storage Systems on the left side.
   The Storage Systems page is displayed.
4. Select the PowerStore storage system..
   The storage system details are displayed.
5. Select the Protection tab and click the drop-down to select Protection Policies.
   The details for Protection Policies are displayed.
6. In the Protection Policies page, click + (Create) icon.
   The Create Protection Policy dialog box is displayed.
7. Enter/select the following values for the protection policy to be created:
   • Name
   • Destination
   • Snapshot Rules
   • Replication Rules

   NOTE You cannot select more than 4 snapshot rules and can select only 1 replication rule for a protection policy as per the restriction in PowerStore.
8. Click CREATE.
   The protection policy is created.

   NOTE You can also select the check box Create Another Policy to create another protection policy. After you click CREATE, another Create Protection Policy dialog box is automatically displayed to create another protection policy.
