Removing the 2.5-inch hard-drives

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working on your computer.
  2. Remove the side cover.
  3. Remove the hard-drive assembly.

About this task

NOTE Based on the configuration ordered, there should be two 2.5-inch hard-drives in the assembly.

The following images indicate the location of the 2.5-inch hard-drive and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.

Steps

  1. Remove the two (M3x3.5) screws that secure the first hard-drive to the hard-drive assembly.
  2. Lift and slide the hard-drive from the hard-drive assembly.
  3. Remove the two (M3x3.5) screws that secure the second hard-drive to the hard-drive assembly.
  4. Lift and slide the second hard-drive from the hard-drive assembly.
