Removing the power supply

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the left-side cover.
  3. Remove the front cover.
  4. Remove the 3.5-inch hard drive.
  5. Remove the HDD and ODD cage.

Steps

  1. Press the securing clip and disconnect the processor-power cable from the system board.
  2. Press the securing clip and disconnect the system-board power cable from the system board.
  3. Remove the power-supply unit cables from the routing guides on the chassis.
  4. Remove the three screws (#6-32) that secure the power-supply unit to the chassis.
  5. Slide and lift the power-supply unit off the chassis.
