Removing the media-card reader

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the left-side cover.
  3. Remove the front cover.
  4. Remove the 3.5-inch drive.
  5. Remove the HDD and ODD cage.

Steps

  1. Remove the two screws (M3x5) that secure the media-card reader bracket to the system board and the chassis.
  2. Slide and lift the media-card reader and its bracket off the system board.
