Removing the system fan

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. cover
    2. bezel
    3. cooling shroud
    4. hard drive assembly
    5. optical drive
  3. Perform the following steps to remove the system fan from the computer:
    1. Disconnect the system fan cable from the connector on the system board [1].
    2. Unroute the system fan cable [2].
