Removing the thermal plate

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the SD card.
  3. Remove the base cover .
  4. Remove the battery

Steps

  1. Open the latch and disconnect the display cable from the connector on the system board [1].
  2. Unroute the display cable from the routing clips on the system [2]. Image: removing the thermal plate
  3. Remove the two (M2.5x5) screws that secure the thermal plate to the chassis [1].
  4. Loosen the four captive screws that secure the thermal plate to the chassis in a sequential order (1,2,3,4) as shown on the thermal plate [2] .
