Removing the system fan

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. Battery
    2. Optical drive
    3. Keyboard
    4. Base cover
  3. To remove the system fan:
    1. Disconnect the system fan connector cable from the system board [1].
    2. Remove the 2 (M2x5) screws that secure the system fan to the computer [2].
    3. Lift and remove the system fan from the chassis [3].
