Removing the power button board

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. Battery
    2. Optical drive
    3. Keyboard
    4. Base cover
  3. To remove the power button board:
    1. Disconnect the system board cable from the computer [1].
    2. Remove the display hinge screws (M2.5x8) from the computer [2].
    3. Flip the display hinge to reveal the power button board beneath the hinge [3].
    4. Remove the 1 M2x2 (Big head07) screw that secures the power button board to the chassis [4].
    5. Peel the system board cable from the chassis and the peel the tape that holds the power button board.
    6. Slide the Power button board away from the chassis.
