Removing the System Board

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer.
  2. Remove:
    1. Battery.
    2. optical disk-drive.
    3. access panel.
    4. WLAN card.
    5. hard drive.
    6. memory module.
    7. keyboard.
    8. palmrest assembly.
  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Disconnect speaker and power cable [1].
    2. Disconnect display (eDP) cables [2].

  4. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration
    1. Lift the locking tab [1].
    2. Disconnect I/O cable [2].
    3. Disconnect and lift the eDP cable away from the system board [3,4].
    4. Remove the screws that secure the system board to the chassis [5].

  5. Lift and remove the system board from the chassis.
