Removing the Speakers

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer.
  2. Remove:
    1. Battery.
    2. optical disk-drive.
    3. access panel.
    4. hard drive.
    5. memory module.
    6. keyboard.
    7. palmrest assembly.
  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Disconnect the speaker cables from the system board [1].
    2. Release the speaker cables from the retention tabs [2].

  4. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Release the speaker assembly from the retention clips [1].
    2. Remove the speakers from the chassis [2].
