Create a QoS Profile
QoS profiles include a set of attributes that control the QoS behavior for any volume to which it is applied.
Prerequisites
- To enable users to set QoS profiles for a Storage Center, the Allow QoS Profile Selection option must be selected on the Storage Center Preferences settings.
- To enable QoS profiles to be enforced, the QoS Limits Enabled and Server Load Equalizer Enabled options must be selected on the Storage Center Storage settings.
Steps
- If you are connected to a Data Collector, select a Storage Center from the drop-down list in the left navigation pane of Unisphere Central.
- From the
STORAGE menu, click
Profiles.
The Profiles view is displayed. - In the Profiles view, click QoS Profiles.
- In the Qos
Profiles area, select the type of profile to create.
- Volume
- Group
- Click
(New).The New QoS Profile dialog box opens. - Configure the QoS profile.
- In the Name field, type a name for the QoS profile.
- (Optional for volume QoS profiles only) In the Relative Priority field, select the priority of profile in relation to other QoS profiles. To specify a custom relative priority, select Custom and type a number in the Priority Value field.
- (Optional for volume QoS profiles only) Select Enable Latency Threshold Alert, then type a latency threshold alert value is ms.
- (Optional) Select Limit by IOPS, then type a value for the maximum IOPS allowed.
- (Optional) Select Limit by Bandwidth, then type a value for the maximum MB/sec allowed.
- Click OK.
