Upgrade or downgrade OS10 from ONIE on Z9432F-ON and S5448F-ON

This section describes how to install OS10 from ONIE on the Z9432F-ON and S5448F-ON platforms. By default, secure boot is enabled in BIOS on these platforms.

To install OS10 image from ONIE with secure boot feature enabled:

1. Download OS10 Enterprise Edition image from the Dell Technologies Support site. The .tar file includes OS10 image (.bin or .exe) and its signature (.sig).
2. Boot up the switch in ONIE: Install or ONIE: Rescue mode to install the OS10 image manually.
3. Log in to ONIE with the following credentials:
   • Username: root
   • Password: SERVICETAG! (Use service tag of the switch followed by ! as the password)
4. Stop DHCP discovery.

   $ onie-discovery-stop

   Or,

   $ onie-stop

5. Configure the IP addresses on the Management port, where x.x.x.x represents your internal IP address.

   $ ifconfig eth0 x.x.x.x netmask y.y.y.z up

   Or,

   $ ip address add x.x.x.x/mask dev eth0

6. Install the OS10 image on the device. Provide the .tar file directly which has (.bin or .exe) and .sig files.

   $ onie-nos-install image_url

   For example:

   ONIE:~ # onie-nos-install http://a.b.c.d/OS10_Enterprise_m.n.o.p.tar

   The installer validates the OS10 image with the signature and installs the software.
