Verify OS10 image

Use any one of the methods described below to verify the OS10 image (.bin or .exe) after you download it.

OS10 images can be verified using any one of the following methods:

  • GPG key verification
  • PKI verification
  • SHA256 verification

GPG key verification

Ensure that you have DNS configured on the switch. The management IP address must be reachable for the switch to access keyserver.ubuntu.com.

  1. Install the key into the switch GPG key ring. 
    OS10# image gpg-key key-server keyserver.ubuntu.com key-id 7FDA043B
  2. Verify the OS10 image. 
    OS10# image verify image://PKGS_OS10-Enterprise-x.x.x.x.xbuster-installer-x86_64.bin gpg signature image://PKGS_OS10-Enterprise-x.x.x.x.xbuster-installer-x86_64.bin.gpg
Image verified successfully.

PKI verification

Use the public key file, DellOS10.cert.pem file with the image verify command: 
OS10# image verify image://PKGS_OS10-Enterprise-x.x.x.x.xbuster-installer-x86_64.bin pki signature image://PKGS_OS10-Enterprise-x.x.x.x.xbuster-installer-x86_64.bin.sha256.base64 public-key image://DellOS10.cert.pem
Image verified successfully.

SHA256 verification

Use any one of the following commands to verify the OS10 image using the SHA256 algorithm: 

OS10# image verify image://PKGS_OS10-Enterprise-x.x.x.x.xbuster-installer-x86_64.bin sha256 signature 2e44476c2a3c0f2a9c01a200104cab27a497b0e822ef1f342f3c2bb70b0f2ad3
Image verified successfully.
