Dell PowerFlex 4.5.x Administration Guide

Add a peer system

On the source system, add the connection information of the target system (remote site) to enable replication between the peer systems.

Prerequisites

Obtain the system ID of both source and target systems, using command line. The system ID is displayed immediately after login. You can also obtain it by running the command scli --query_all.

Steps

  1. On the source system, on the menu bar, click Protection > Peer Systems.
  2. Click Add Peer System.
  3. In the Add Peer System dialog box, enter the connection information of the peer system:
    1. Enter the peer system's name.
    2. Enter the system ID of the remote site.
    3. Accept the default, or enter the port number that will be used to connect the systems.
    4. Enter the MDM IP address of the remote site.
Either enter the remote system's virtual IP address, or enter both primary and secondary MDM IP addresses, using the Add IP option.
    5. Click Add Peer to initiate a connection with the peer system.
After adding peer system at source and before adding peer system at the target, the peer state is Not Authorized.
  4. Repeat steps 1–3 on the target system.

Results

After the peer system has been set up on both systems, the state of the peers should show that they are connected.
NOTE:If connection is not successful, verify that both source and target systems have a copy of their peer's certificate.
