Co-residency management deployment prerequisites

There are certain prerequisites required by PowerFlex Manager before you can deploy a Kubernetes cluster.

• The following operating systems are supported:
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.9, 8.6, 8.8
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 15 SP3, 15 SP4
  • CentOS 7.9
• The following modules must be installed on the participating nodes before starting a co-resident deployment:

  Download the appropriate versions of pycparser, cffi and cryptography for your OS release and Python version. SLES 15.4 comes with these modules standard.

  Download the appropriate version of pip, pycparser, cffi and cryptography for your OS release and Python version. Python v3.11 and Python3.11-cryptography includes above mentioned modules and can be used to run the MDM certificate generation script.

• All nodes must have their clocks synchronized with a valid time source.
• Ensure that the default route is configured before installing PowerFlex Manager.
• Ensure that you disable the NetworkManager service on Red Hat based deployments. If the NetworkManager is running on the Linux operating system, the /etc/resolv.conf file content will be overwritten when updating the DNS records. For more information about disabling NetworkManager, refer to OS vendor guidelines.
