Dell PowerFlex 4.5.x Install and Upgrade Guide

Verify connectivity

Use the following procedure to verify connectivity between SDS, SDC, and management nodes before starting the PowerFlex file deployment.

Steps

  1. Verify the SDS, the block storage node, and SDC, PowerFlex file node, connections.
    1. Log in to the SDS node and check that the MTU 9000 jumbo frames are working correctly with the following command:
      # ping -M do -s 8972 destinationIP, where the destinationIP is data 1 or data 2 IP addresses of the PowerFlex file node.
    2. Repeat the steps for all the PowerFlex file nodes.
  2. Verify the connection of the PowerFlex management platform management node and the PowerFlex file node.
    1. Log in to one of the management virtual machines (MVMs) and ping the PowerFlex file node management IP address.
      # ping <PowerFlex management IP address of the file node>
    2. Ensure that the SSH access is working correctly.
#ssh <PowerFlex management IP address of the file node>
NOTE:If the customer is using the non-root user for deployment, ensure that sudo access is working.
