All servers intended for hosting PowerFlex components and PowerFlex Manager must meet system requirements.
NOTE:The Dell-supplied hardware configurations must satisfy all the hardware requirements.
Secure boot on servers is not supported. Ensure that secure boot is disabled in the BIOS of each server.
All nodes must have unique hostnames.
To use secure authentication mode, ensure that the latest OpenSSL 64-bit v1.0.2 or v1.1.1 is installed on all servers in the system.

Powerflex Manager and its installer node
The nodes that host PowerFlex Manager must have connectivity to both data and management PowerFlex networks. All management nodes should be on the same subnet and SSH should be enabled.
Prepare the following nodes for installing PowerFlex Manager
  • PowerFlex Manager installer node:
    • If the PowerFlex Manager installer is on a bare-metal node, install Docker version 20.10.0 or higher.
    • If you are using PowerFlex Manager installer on an existing VMware ESXi management infrastructure, deploy the provided installer OVA (SUSE Linux-based).
  • Three management nodes:
    • These nodes must have IP addresses and hostnames that are unique and are on the same subnet.
    • Hostname labels may contain only the ASCII letters 'a' through 'z' (in a case-insensitive manner), the digits '0' through '9', and the hyphen '-'.
    • The PowerFlex management platform can be deployed in the following modes:
      • One dedicated management node
      • Three dedicated management nodes with VMware ESXi or bring your own Linux dedicated management nodes
      • Co-resident with storage or Linux hyperconverged infrastructure nodes
