Create a new VMFS datastore

Use this procedure to create a new virtual machine file system (VMFS) datastore.

Steps

  1. Log in to the VMware vCenter.
  2. Click Home > Inventory and select the storage icon.
  3. Right-click the compute-only cluster and select Storage > New Datastore.
  4. Click VMFS and click Next.
  5. Enter the name of the datastore and select a host from the list.
    Verify if you see a new NVMe TCP disk (eui.######).
  6. Select the NVMe TCP disk and click Next.
  7. Click VMFS 6 and click Next.
  8. Leave the default configuration unless instructed by the customer and click Next.
  9. Review the configuration and click Finish.
