Configure the NTP services for the
PowerFlex management platform installer virtual machine (VM) and the
PowerFlex management platform cluster VMs or physical nodes (co-resident or bring your own Linux
PowerFlex management platform deployments).
Steps
To configure the NTP server, enter
sudo vi /etc/chrony.conf and add the following:
server <ntp ip address> iburst
For example:
server 10.10.105.240 iburst
To start the chronyd service, enter:
sudo systemctl start chronyd
To enable chronyd, enter:
sudo systemctl enable chronyd
To restart chronyd, enter:
sudo systemctl restart chronyd
To verify that the
Network Time Protocol service is running, enter:
sudo systemctl status chronyd.service
Repeat all the steps for all the
PowerFlex management platform VMs and the installer VM.
To check that the server is synced to NTP, enter:
chronyc tracking
NOTE:The time may take a few minutes to sync. The following are examples of chronyd tracking status:

A configured NTP server should be listed under
Reference ID,
Stratum should be a value greater than zero.
System Time should report less than 1 s time difference:
