Dell PowerFlex Manager 4.6.x CLI Reference Guide

Sessions

If the login succeeds, the CLI generates an encrypted session file and saves it in ~/.powerflex/cli/. The name of the session token file is in the format, <session_name>.token if the session name is given or default.token if the session name is not given. The session name allows you to run more than once script that calls login command simultaneously and to be logged in to more than one server at the same time. The session file contains the name of the server, server port, and keycloak access token in an encrypted format.

Session token

The CLI returns a user session token, which is the key to open the session file. The session token is mandatory in any call to the CLI, except login. It expires if the session is idle for 30 minutes (default value). While in use, the session token is valid for 10 hours (default value). The CLI refreshes the session automatically. If a session name other than default, is passed in the log in command, the same session name must be passed in every command with the session token.
