Once you are authenticated by the system, all commands can be run with the respective role until a logout is performed, or until the session expires by reaching one of the following timeouts:

• Maximum session length (default: 8 hours)
• Session idle time (default: 10 minutes)

Before you log in for the first time, run the following commands:

cp/opt/emc/scaleio/mdm/cfg/mgmt_ca.pem/—Copy the management certificate to the root location.

scli --add_certificate --certificate_file /opt/emc/scaleio/mdm/cfg/mgmt_ca.pem—Add the management certificate to the trusted certificate.

Syntax

scli --login ( (--management_system_ip <MNO_IP> --username <NAME> [--password <PASSWORD>] ) | ( [--p12_path <P12_PATH>] [--p12_password <P12_PASSWORD>] ) ) [--accept_banner_by_scripts_only]

Parameters

--management_system_ip <MNO_IP>

IP address of the management system.

--username <NAME>

User name to log in

--password <PASSWORD>

User password. If the password is missing, you are prompted to enter the password.

NOTE:In Linux, to prevent the password from being recorded in the history log, type the command without password parameter and then enter the password in the new line when it is prompted.

--p12_path <P12_PATH>

Path to p12 certificate file. If not specified, uses same default path as in generate_login_certificate

p12_password <P12_PASSWORD>

Password for p12 certificate. If not specified, you are prompted to enter the password.

--accept_banner_by_scripts_only

Preemptive approval of login banner
