Dell PowerFlex v3.6.x User Roles and LDAP Usage Technical Notes

PDF

Changes to the LDAP server structure

When changes are made to the LDAP server structure after configuring LDAP in PowerFlex, you must reconfigure LDAP accordingly for the MDM, PowerFlex Gateway, and LIA, where applicable:

  • Changes to the LDAP server's configuration, such as a new URI or base DN, require corresponding updates to the LDAP service, or adding a new LDAP service, on the MDM, PowerFlex Gateway, and LIA.
  • Changes to LDAP groups require corresponding updates to the service groups on the PowerFlex clients.

Changes to user privileges take effect immediately in the PowerFlex client upon new login. However, users who are already logged retain their previous login privileges until the current session expires due to inactivity or exceeding the general session time limit.
