Upgrade the PowerFlex GUI from versions earlier than v3.5
Use these steps to upgrade the PowerFlex GUI from versions earlier than v3.5.
Prerequisites
NOTE:From
PowerFlex version 3.5, the
PowerFlex GUI is a web-based application installed on a server. Therefore, the new
PowerFlex GUI is a fresh installation known as the
PowerFlex presentation server, and the GUI client from VxFlex OS versions of the product is neither upgraded nor supported going forward.
- Ensure that the workstation complies with the PowerFlex system requirements.
- Ensure that you have the PowerFlex presentation server installation file. It is included in the PowerFlex complete software package that you downloaded from https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us.
NOTE:It is not recommended to install the
PowerFlex presentation server on the same server as the
PowerFlex Gateway. If you must install them on the same server, the
PowerFlex Gateway must be installed first. The
PowerFlex presentation server listens on port 8443, and the
PowerFlex Gateway installer checks that port 8443 is available, although it does not use this port.
Steps

Install the
PowerFlex presentation server on a server in your system:
- Linux:
rpm -i EMC-ScaleIO-mgmt-server-3.6-X.<build>.noarch.rpm - Debian (run with administrator privileges):
sudo dpkg -i emc-scaleio-mgmt-server_3.6-X.<build>_amd64.deb
- Linux:
- Prior to using the PowerFlex GUI, link the PowerFlex presentation server to the PowerFlex system. For more information, about linking the system, login and use of the PowerFlex GUI, refer to the Configure and Customize Dell PowerFlex.
