RHEL/CentOS upgrade to version 8.3

In cases where you are upgrading the operating system from RHEL/CentOS 8.0 to RHEL/CentOS 8.3 on a node containing preconfigure NVDIMMs (devdax devices), you are required to use the upgrade command for no dependencies.

About this task

NOTE:If you are upgrading multiple nodes, perform the following steps one node at a time.

Steps

  1. From the PowerFlex GUI, place the node into Protected Maintenance Mode and wait for the operating to complete.
  2. From the system console, enter:
    dnf upgrade --nobest
  3. Answer Yes to all questions that occur during the upgrade process.
  4. Wait for the upgrade process to complete, including the reboot, if required.
  5. From the PowerFlex GUI, remove the node from Protected Maintenance Mode.
    Wait for the rebuild to complete.
  6. Check the upgrade log on the node to determine whether any packages require upgrading manually.
  7. Proceed to the next node, if relevant.
