Upgrade Dell PowerFlex to v3.6.x

PDF

PowerFlex GUI upgrade prerequisites

Before upgrading PowerFlex components from all previous versions, ensure that Oracle JRE 1.8 build 301, or OpenJDK JDK 8 build 302.b08, is installed on the server that will host the PowerFlex presentation server. The PowerFlex presentation server is an application that is used from PowerFlex v3.5 and higher. The VxFlex OS GUI client that was used in versions earlier than v3.5 will not be upgraded and is not supported going forward. If the PowerFlex presentation server and the PowerFlex Gateway will be installed on the same server, the PowerFlex Gateway must be installed before the PowerFlex presentation server. The PowerFlex presentation server listens on port 8443, and the PowerFlex Gateway checks that port 8443 is available, although it does not use this port..

NOTE:If you want to upgrade OpenJDK to version 11, do so after upgrade of the PowerFlex presentation server.
NOTE: If Java is already installed, check the existing version of Java by running the following command: java -version

For example, install the Oracle JRE file relevant for the server's operating system:

rpm -i /var/tmp/jre-8uXX-linux-x64.rpm

For information about downloading and installing OpenJDK, refer to: https://openjdk.java.net/install/
