Upgrade Dell PowerFlex to v3.6.x

PDF

Automated upgrade of physical Linux-based configurations

Upgrade PowerFlex in an automated process, when all components reside on physical Linux-based nodes.

Physical machine upgrades use the PowerFlex Installer (part of the PowerFlex Gateway), together with the LIA, to orchestrate the upgrade.
NOTE:To verify if LIA is installed, or to add LIA to a system where it is not installed, see "Add LIA to a system to enable automated maintenance and upgrades" in the Configure and Customize Dell PowerFlex.

Upgrades are non-disruptive; upgrades can be performed while I/Os are running and volumes are mapped.

The PowerFlex Installer can be used to upgrade MDM clusters from a 3-node cluster to a 3-node cluster, or from a 5-node to a 5-node cluster. Extension of a 3-node MDM cluster to a 5-node MDM cluster can be performed after the system upgrade. For more information, see "Extend an existing PowerFlex system" in the Configure and Customize Dell PowerFlex.
NOTE:Automated upgrades are not supported on systems managed by a single-node MDM cluster.
