Dell Lifecycle Controller (LC)
With the launch of the Dell PowerEdge 13th-generation servers in September 2014, Dell enhanced embedded management without the need to install a software-based agent within the host operating system. 14th-generation servers continue this functionality.
At the heart of the servers' embedded management is the iDRAC with Lifecycle Controller (LC) technology. This technology allows users to perform useful tasks such as configuring BIOS and hardware settings, deploying operating systems, updating drivers, changing RAID settings, and saving hardware profiles. Together, they provide a robust set of management functions that can be leveraged throughout the entire server lifecycle.
Supported versions are iDRAC8 (13th generation servers) or iDRAC9 (14th generation servers).
