You can install and configure PowerFlex version 4.0.x, or you can upgrade from PowerFlex version 3.6.x to version 4.0.x.
PowerFlex Manager allows you to use the Initial Configuration Wizard to perform an upgrade to version 4.0.x. Customers with PowerFlex 3.5.x can upgrade to 3.6.x, and then use the Initial Configuration Wizard to perform an upgrade to PowerFlex Manager 4.0.x.
Customers with PowerFlex Manager must be running PowerFlex Manager 3.8 in order to perform the upgrade.
Customers that do not have an existing PowerFlex environment have the option to deploy a new instance of PowerFlex.

By design, the PowerFlex SDC in this release is compatible with newer and previously released systems that are currently supported (for example, VxFlex OS v3.0.1). In addition, the PowerFlex system (backend) in this release is backward and forward compatible with previously released SDC versions that are currently supported.
