Shared network interface for PowerFlex management and NAS management (tagged VLAN) and dedicated interfaces for PowerFlex data and NAS data

In this configuration, PowerFlex management and NAS management share the same network interface for management traffic. In addition, PowerFlex data uses a dedicated interface for SDS to SDC data path. NAS data also uses a dedicated interface for accessing PowerFlex file data from a client.

Steps

  1. Use the following procedures before creating the PowerFlex file template.
    • Create a VLAN interface (eth0.250 or em0.250) on all PowerFlex file nodes.
      • Choose option: No Link and IP Setup (Bond Ports).
      • IP address assignment is not necessary.
    • Run the following command from the PowerFlex management platform primary node to update the thin deployer service:
      #kubectl patch hr thin-deployer -n powerflex -p
      '{"spec":{"values":{"sdnas_swonly_nas_mgmt_int":"eth0.250",
      "sdnas_swonly_nas_data_int":"eth2"}}}' --type=merge
  2. Modify the following values according to your preferences:
    • sdnas_swonly_nas_mgmt_int to eth0.250 or em0.250
    • sdnas_swonly_nas_data_int to eth2 or em2
