Perform initial configuration

After installation, use the following procedure to complete the initial configuration.

About this task

The first time you log in to PowerFlex Manager, you are prompted with an Initial Configuration Wizard, which prompts you to configure the basic settings that are required to start using PowerFlex Manager.

Prerequisites

Ensure that you have the following:

  • About the type of installation you want to perform, including details about your existing PowerFlex instance, if you intend to import from another PowerFlex instance

Steps

  1. On the Welcome page, read the instructions, and click Next.
  2. If you want to enable SupportAssist, see related information, and click Next.
  3. Select I have a Powerflex cluster to import.
  4. Select PowerFlex 3.x.
  5. Enter each MDM IP address and click Add IP after each one until all MDMs are displayed.
  6. Enter the MDM admin user name.
  7. Enter the MDM admin password.
  8. Enter the primary MDM operating system user name.
  9. Enter the primary MDM operating system password and click Next.
  10. PowerFlex Manager will validate the information and wait for validation passed to display, and click Next.
  11. Review the summary for accuracy and click Finish.
  12. Monitor the progress on the Jobs page.
  13. After the job completes you will be able to browse the Block tab and see the protection domain and storage data server (SDS) listed.
