Verify DNS on a VMware ESXi-based PowerFlex node

Use the following procedure to verify DNS on a VMware ESXi-based PowerFlex node.

Steps

  1. SSH to the VMware ESXi-based PowerFlex node.
  2. Type the following: nslookup <FQDN>.
    Example output: 
    [root@pfmp-r650-01:~] nslookup pfmp-r650-01.example.com
Server:         10.10.105.240
Address:        10.10.105.240:53

Name:   pfmp-r650-01.example.com
Address: 10.10.105.3

[root@pfmp-r650-01:~]
  3. Type the following: nslookup <IP address>.
    Example output: 
    [root@pfmp-r650-01:~] nslookup 10.10.105.3
Server:         10.10.105.240
Address:        10.10.105.240:53

123.123.123.45.in-addr.arpa      name = pfmp-r650-01.example.com

[root@pfmp-r650-01:~]
