Deploying a PowerFlex cluster using a CSV topology file

This section describes how to prepare a CSV topology file, upload the CSV topology file using REST API commands or PowerFlex Manager, and then deploy block storage using REST API commands or PowerFlex Manager.

If you are using the legacy PowerFlex to provide an installation topology file using PowerFlex Manager, click Deploy With Installation File.

NOTE:This is an advanced deployment method for deploying block storage. If you use this method, ensure that you are familiar with setting up the CSV file, as described in detail in this guide.
Consider the following:
  • While deploying PowerFlex using PowerFlex installer, if you see an error indicating that the channel cannot be opened, then verify if PowerFlex is already deployed.
  • While deploying additional servers with SDTs on an existing system with components such as SDTs, you may see errors listed in the Events tab. These errors are for the already existing components, such as, SDTs in the cluster.
  • Ensure that you use the single SSH key for all nodes if you want to deploy a PowerFlex cluster using a CSV topology file.
