Retrieve PowerFlex GUI logs

Retrieve the PowerFlex GUI logs.

Prerequisites

Ensure that you have:
  • Access to the operating system on the PowerFlex presentation server (which hosts the PowerFlex GUI).
  • Admin rights and password for logging in to the PowerFlex presentation server.

About this task

PowerFlex GUI logs are collected in a system-defined folder on the local drive of the PowerFlex presentation server.

Steps

  1. Using SSH, log in to the PowerFlex presentation server that runs the PowerFlex GUI for the logs you want to collect.
  2. Navigate to /opt/emc/scaleio/mgmt-server/diag/.
  3. Run: 
    ./get_info.sh -u admin -p <password>

    where <password> is the PowerFlex GUI's admin password.

    For example: 

    ./get_info.sh -u admin -p Scaleio123

    The following output should appear: 

    Archive /tmp/scaleio-getinfo/getInfoDump.tgz created successfully
  4. Retrieve the getInfoDump.tgz file from /tmp/scaleio-getinfo/.
