PowerFlex SNMP traps

PowerFlex uses a single OID for all traps: .1.3.6.1.4.1.1139.101.2

Trap variables are as follows:
  • VAR Bind 1—Alert severity (int value) where:

    1. Information
    2. Minor
    3. Major
    4. n/a
    5. Critical
  • VAR Bind 2—Trap text. "SNMP code" in the alerts tables
  • VAR Bind 3—Resource ID of the object that triggered the trap
  • VAR Bind 4—SCG alert code "SCG symptom ID" in the alerts tables. Not all alerts have this field.
NOTE:SNMP traps are sent only when an alert is raised, not when it is cleared.
The example trap below should be read as follows:
  • Alert severity—Critical (5)
  • Trap text—Esrs.Esrs.CONNECTIVITY_ERROR
  • SCG alert code—SIO10.01.0000001
  • A human-readable explanation can be extracted from the "Description" column in the alerts tables.
  • Recommended action can be extracted from the "System impact" and "Repair flow" columns in the alerts tables.
