Configure the SDS for NVDIMM health awareness

Optionally, configure the SDS to enable periodic monitoring of bad blocks in NVDIMM devices.

Prerequisites

Root access permissions are required for this procedure.

About this task

To enable this feature in the PowerFlex system, perform this procedure on every SDS that uses NVDIMM acceleration devices. This feature is disabled by default.

Steps

  1. In command line, run the command: 
    echo "acc_dev_ndctl_error_detection_enable=1" >> /opt/emc/scaleio/sds/cfg/conf.txt
  2. Restart the SDS: 
    /opt/emc/scaleio/sds/bin/delete_service.sh
    /opt/emc/scaleio/sds/bin/create_service.sh
  3. Wait until system rebuild/rebalance is complete, and then repeat steps 1 and 2 on the next SDS, until all SDSs are configured.
