Dell PowerFlex 4.6.x Technical Overview

PDF

High availability of the PowerFlex Manager user interface

PowerFlex Manager is able to recover from most failures in a short amount of time, enabling continuous management and operation of the PowerFlex system.

When a node is not available, a banner is displayed at the top of the screen indicating that the system is undergoing maintenance and you must wait up to 10 minutes for recovery. Once the node returns to normal status, the banner disappears. Whenever the user interface is not able to retrieve data from the backend, PowerFlex Manager displays a message indicating that no data is available due to maintenance. The block, alerts, and events services run replicas of the data to allow the relevant parts of the user interface to remain accessible when a node or pod fails.
