Removing the Heatsink Assembly

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer.
  2. Remove the computer cover.
  3. Perform the following steps:
    1. Disconnect the heatsink fan cable from the system board [1].
    2. Loosen the captive screws that secure the heatsink assembly [2].
    3. Lift the heatsink assembly and remove it from the computer [3].
