Removing the side cover
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in
Before working inside your computer.
NOTE: Ensure that you remove the security cable from the security-cable slot (if applicable).
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the side cover and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Pull the release latch to release the side cover from the computer.
NOTE: If the side-panel latch is set to the locked position, use a Phillips screwdriver to turn the side-panel latch to the unlocked position.
- Open the side cover at an angle and lift the cover away from the chassis.
