Removing the system board

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the cover.
  3. Open the psu hinge.
  4. Remove the memory module.
  5. Remove the graphics card.
  6. Remove the solid state drive.
  7. Remove the WLAN module and SMA antenna.
  8. Remove the heat sink assembly.
  9. Remove the Voltage regulator heat sink.
  10. Remove the processor.

Steps

  1. Disconnect and remove the following cables from the system board:
    1. System fan cable
    2. Intrusion cable
    3. I/O panel cable
    4. CPU power cable
    5. System board power connector cable
    6. SD card cable
    7. Type-C cable
    8. I/O USB cable
    9. Primary hard drive SATA cable
    10. ODD SATA cable
    11. Speaker cable
    12. I/O audio cable
  2. Remove the eight screws (#6-32) that secure the system board to the chassis.
  3. Slide the system board out of the chassis.
