Removing the SMA antenna—Location 3

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the side cover.
  3. Remove the hard-drive assembly—optional.
  4. Remove the riser card—optional.

Steps

  1. Remove the cable-protective cover from the SMA antenna.
  2. Loosen the nut using the 8 mm wrench or with automatic screw driver.
  3. Remove the SMA antenna module out of the chassis.
  4. Remove the single (M2x3.5) screw that secures the wireless-card shield to the system board.
  5. Remove the wireless-card shield away from the wireless card.
  6. Unroute the antenna cables from the routing guides on the sides of the system board.
  7. Remove the (M2x3.5) screw that secures the wireless-card bracket to the wireless card.
  8. Disconnect the antenna cables from the connectors on the wireless card.
  9. Slide and remove the wireless card away from the system board.
  10. Unroute the location 1 and location 2 internal antenna cables from the securing clip on the chassis.
