Removing the WLAN antenna module

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
    NOTE:Ensure that your computer is in Service Mode. For more information see, step 6 in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the SD card.
  3. Remove the base cover.
  4. Remove the M.2 solid-state drive, for systems shipped with a solid-state drive.
  5. Remove the VPU card, for systems shipped with a VPU card.
  6. Remove the Battery.
  7. Remove the left fan.
  8. Remove the right fan.
  9. Remove the heatsink.
  10. Remove the system board.

NOTE:The following procedure is applicable for systems shipped with WLAN antennas only.

Removing the speaker

Steps

  1. Remove the left and right tweeter speakers from their slots on the chassis.
  2. Peel off the tape that secures the WLAN antenna cables to the palm-rest assembly.
  3. Unroute the WLAN antenna cables from the routing guides on the palm-rest assembly.
  4. Loosen the four captive screws that secure the WLAN antennas in place.
  5. Remove the WLAN antennas off the system.
