Removing the left fan
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in
Before working inside your computer.
NOTE:Ensure that your computer is in Service Mode. For more information see, step 6 in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the SD card.
- Remove the base cover.

CAUTION:The information in this removal section is intended for authorized service technicians only.
The following images indicate the location of the left fan and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Disconnect the left-fan cable from the connector on the system board.
- Remove the two (M2x4) screws that secure the left fan to the palm-rest assembly.
- Lift the left fan from the outside and remove it from the palm-rest assembly.
