Installing the battery

Prerequisites

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.

About this task

CAUTION:The information in this installation section is intended for authorized service technicians only.

The following image indicates the location of the battery and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure.

NOTE: If battery was disconnected from system board for service, there will be a delay during system boot-up as the system will undergo RTC battery reset.

Steps

  1. Connect the battery FPC cable to the connector on the battery.
  2. Adhere the battery FPC cable on the battery.
  3. Align and place the battery into the slot on the chassis.
  4. Replace the six (M2x4) screws to secure the battery to the plam-rest assembly.

Next steps

  1. Install the base cover.
  2. Install the SD card.
  3. Follow the procedure in After working inside your computer.
