Asynchronous replication for block

The following applies for asynchronous block replication:

  • When an asynchronous replication session is created, a matching read-only resource is created on the destination system. A read-only definition of the protection policy is also created on the destination system. This policy is used if the replication session is failed over.
  • When you add volumes to a volume group or change the size of the volume group during an asynchronous replication session, the changes do not immediately appear on the destination. You can either perform a manual synchronization or wait until the synchronization occurs based on the RPO.
  • You can switch from asynchronous to synchronous replication by modifying the replication rule in the assigned protection policy.
NOTE:Switching from asynchronous replication to synchronous replication may impact the performance of the volume and volume group replication sessions.
