NOTE:You can end individual metro volumes or metro volume groups. It is not possible to end a metro volume that is a member of a volume group.
When you end a metro resource, the metro configuration is removed, resulting in two independent volumes or volume groups. If the remote resource is not deleted, the system removes the protection policy that is assigned to it, unmaps the hosts and assigns it with a new, different SCSI WWN. You can end a metro resource either from the preferred or the nonpreferred system.
Steps
Select
Protection > Metro.
Select the status of a metro resource to display the metro resource details page and then select
End Metro.
The
End Metro Volume/Volume Group slide-out panel is displayed.
Select one of the following options from the slide-out panel:
End metro and keep the resources on both the local and remote system.
NOTE:The remote system unmaps the hosts and assigns a different SCSI WWN to the resource. If you end a metro volume group, a different SCSI WWN is assigned to every member of the volume group.
End metro and delete the resource and any associated snapshots on the remote system.
NOTE:Remote volumes and volume groups that are associated with unexpired secure snapshots cannot be deleted.
Click
End.
