PDF

Generate a troubleshooting bundle

A troubleshooting bundle is a compressed file that contains logging information for PowerFlex Manager managed components. If necessary, download the bundle and send it to Dell Technologies Support for issue debugging.

About this task

The troubleshooting bundle includes the following logs:
  • PowerFlex Manager application
  • Alert connector
  • PowerFlex Gateway
  • iDRAC life cycle
  • Dell EMC PowerSwitch switch
  • Cisco Nexus switch
  • VMware ESXi

If the alert connector is configured to send alerts through Secure Remote Services, the default location where the bundle is sent is Secure Remote Services. To configure the alert connector, go to the Alert Connector section on the Virtual Appliance Management page.

If you are not using Secure Remote Services, you can select the bundle to download locally.

Steps

  1. On the menu bar, click Settings > Virtual Appliance Management.
  2. On the Virtual Appliance Management page, click Generate Troubleshooting Bundle.
  3. Select either Send to Configured Secure Remote Services or Download Locally.
  4. If providing a local path use one of the following formats:
    For... Use this path...
    CIFS \\IP Address\Any folder

    For example: \\192.168.1.1\uploadDirectory

    NFS IP Address:/Any folder

    For example: 192.168.1.1:/var/nfs/uploadDirectory

  5. Click Test Connection to verify the connection to the CIFS or NFS share before generating the bundle.
  6. Click Generate.
