Dell EMC PowerFlex Rack Using PowerFlex Manager

PDF

Expanding a system

You can expand a system with additional PowerFlex nodes. You do this in PowerFlex Manager by adding nodes to a service.

The following are the high-level expansion tasks, if PowerFlex Manager was installed and configured in the factory:

  1. Discover and configure the PowerFlex node for alerting.
  2. Ensure the availability of network IP addresses.
  3. Add PowerFlex nodes to a service.

If your system did not have PowerFlex Manager installed and configured in the factory, and you are expanding a service that was initially deployed outside of PowerFlex Manager, you must complete the following expansion steps:

  1. Discover and configure the PowerFlex node for alerting.
  2. Add a network to a service deployed outside of PowerFlex Manager.
  3. Ensure the availability of network IP addresses.
  4. Add PowerFlex nodes to a service.
