Verify and change the maximum transmission unit (MTU) value

This section provides details on verifying and changing the MTU values on VMware VMkernel port group and the dvSwitch on the VMware vCenter.

In order for the MTU value to be updated, back up the switch port configuration. and verify the port channel for the impacted host is updated to 9216 using show running-configuration interface port-channel <portchannel number>. When this is completed, verify the dvSwitch is backed up. To back up the dvSwitch, see Back up the dvswitch configuration.

NOTE:If the MTU value is already set to 9000, ignore the Change the maximum transmission unit... tasks.
