Restoring the PowerFlex gateway

Use this procedure when the PowerFlex gateway has been lost and must be restored.

About this task

The PowerFlex management cluster requires a separate gateway to manage the cluster.

During deployment, PowerFlex Manager sets the same password for the PowerFlex gateway admin account, the PowerFlex gateway lockbox, MDMs, and LIA. When restoring a lost PowerFlex gateway, you must set these passwords in the PowerFlex gateway to match the PowerFlex gateway admin password set during deployment (or in the PowerFlex Manager Settings > Credentials Management page) to maintain manageability by PowerFlex Manager.

You must also set the PowerFlex gateway root password to match the PowerFlex gateway root password set during deployment (or in the PowerFlex Manager Settings > Credentials Management) page to maintain manageability by PowerFlex Manager.
